the bullets would be flowers
the rifles as trombones and bassoons
and the thunders as love poems.
If you had the magic of a wizard
the appetite would be wheat
the cannons as giant binoculars
and the tanks as Ice cream trucks.
If you had the magic of a wizard
the soldiers would be clowns
the lieutenants as paper birds
as ballerinas or towers.
If you had the magic of a wizard
the mines would be the dice
the bombs as the juggling
and the crows as doves of peace.
